Enrolment
St Michael’s Primary school, Blacktown South invites enquiries from parents interested in enrolling with us and thus providing their children with a sound Catholic education.
The enrolment period for Kindergarten 2013 will begin on 23rd April 2012. Enrolment applications for Kindergarten 2013 will not be accepted before this date.
Please contact the school regarding vacancies in grades 1 to 6.
Who can apply to enrol at St Michael’s?
As part of the Parramatta Diocesan system of Catholic schools, St Michael’s is committed to being ‘authentically Catholic’ and ‘inviting, inclusive and just’ (Vision statement, Catholic Education Office Parramatta). Anyone who is willing to support and participate fully in the life of a Catholic school is welcome to apply. Enrolment preference is given, in order, to:
- children of Catholic families who live in the parish of St Michael’s, Blacktown South
- children of Catholic families from other parishes
- non-Catholics.
Special consideration may be given to children of non-Catholic families for:
- compassionate reasons
- family situations requiring a special pastoral approach
- parents' intentions regarding their own and their children's faith development
- family circumstances involving family relocation
- enrolment of siblings
Non-Catholics are accepted into St Michael’s in accordance with the school's enrolment vacancies.
How do I enrol?
Parents need to obtain an enrolment application. These are available from our school office during office hours (Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am - 3:15 pm, Friday, 8:45 am - 3:15 pm). Alternatively, our enrolment form can be downloaded, completed, and returned to the school office. See link to application form below.
When returning your enrolment application form, the following documents also will be required:
- birth certificate
- baptism certificate
- immunisation record
- preschool reports (if applicable)
- citizenship certificate or passport of parents (only required if parents were not born in Australia)
- current visa status (if applicate)
- any relevant medical reports or assessments
- passport photo of your child.
When your enrolment form is returned to the office, a time will be arranged for an interview with you and your child.
Copies of this paperwork will be kept on file ready for your enrolment interview. This paperwork and other enrolment information is obtained and kept on file in accordance with the Standard Collection Notice for Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Parramatta.
When attending your enrolment interview with your child, please bring with you:
- original birth certificate, baptism certificate and immunisation records for sighting
- $20 payment for the Kindergarten enrolment administration fee (Kindergarten enrolments only).
