π’ Important Update: SOCIAL MEDIA BAN for Under-16s Starting December 10, new rules will come into effect that prohibit under-16s from creating or keeping accounts on age-restricted social media platforms. π Why this change? Research shows that being logged into social media accounts can increase exposure to pressures and risks, such as upsetting or manipulative content, due to how platforms are designed. These changes aim to give young people more time to build digital literacy, impulse control, critical thinking and resilience before entering these online spaces. π§ While many platforms currently set 13 as the minimum age, this shift to 16 is about providing more time for healthy development in a digital world. π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ With just over two months to go, now is a great time to start conversations at home. Talk with your child about what this change means, how they feel about it and how you can support them.

Today St Michael's ventured off to Rose Bay, taking on the city schools in the Kambala Junior School Chess Invitational tournament. Keert, Liam, Adam, James, Matthew, Dev and Julian played some incredible games, and out of 42 teams, our little school finished equal 4th and 10th. Massive effort!

2026 Parramatta Diocesan Team Sport Trials are OPEN! π’ OPEN NOW (Term 4, 2025): Basketball Cricket Tennis AFL (trials in 2026) π’ OPENING Thursday 27 November 2025: All other sports βοΈWho Can Nominate? Years 5 & 6 (2026): Eligible to nominate for all sports when they open. Year 4 (2026): Eligible to nominate for Basketball, Hockey, Softball, Tennis & Touch Football only. Eligibility & Requirements β Trials are for students who can demonstrate: - Above average ability - High level of skill development - Representative playing experience (for some sports) - Regular competition experience outside of school (preferred) β To be eligible: The 2026 CSPD Primary Sport TEAM Registration Form must be completed.
