✨ Holiday creativity at its best! ♻️🎨 A big thank you to Elva from 1 Yellow for sharing her wonderful upcycled creations these holidays! 💛 From a magical fairy castle made from toilet rolls and recycled magazine pages 🧚♀️🏰 to an incredible old-fashioned map made using tea bags to give it that perfect aged look 🗺️☕️ Elva has certainly put her imagination to work! We love seeing our St Michael’s students getting creative, reusing materials and turning everyday items into something special. 🌟 Well done, Elva! 💕♻️

This is Dev (Year 6) handmade Golden Glove Trophy, inspired by the trophy awarded to the best goalkeeper of the tournament at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 🧤⚽ The base is made from a box and paper, the wrist is made from cardboard, and the hand is a rubber glove that I designed. Every part of the trophy was handmade!

St Michael’s Day – 29 September Today on the 29th of September, Catholics celebrate the Feast of the Archangels St Michael, St Gabriel and St Raphael. This day is traditionally known as Michaelmas, or St Michael’s Day. St Michael the Archangel is honoured in Scripture as a powerful defender of God’s people. His name means “Who is like God?” and reminds us that God alone is our source of strength and protection. In the Book of Revelation, St Michael leads the angels in battle against evil, symbolising the triumph of God’s goodness over sin. For Catholics, St Michael is especially remembered as a protector of the Church and defender against evil. We can ask for his intercession when we need courage, strength and protection, while remembering that our ultimate trust is always in God. The Feast of the Archangels is also an opportunity to reflect on the role of angels in God’s plan. St Gabriel is the messenger who announced to Mary that she would become the Mother of Jesus, while St Raphael is associated with healing and guidance. On this special feast day, Catholics can pray for the protection of our families, communities and Church, asking St Michael to help us remain faithful to God, courageous in times of difficulty, and committed to what is good and true. St Michael the Archangel, pray for us.

Six Year 6 students from 58 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) Primary schools came together at St John XXIII Catholic College Stanhope Gardens on 22 September for the Voice of Youth Grand Final, showcasing their public speaking skills through a series of thoughtful and engaging speeches.

**NEW ST MICHAEL'S SCHOOL HOLIDAY CHALLENGE** 🎨 The Great Upcycled Creation Challenge! ♻️ These holidays, put your imagination to work and turn everyday trash into extraordinary treasure! Students are invited to create any piece of art, a model, a useful gadget, or a masterpiece using items that are no longer in use. Ideas for materials to use: Empty cereal boxes & cardboard packaging Toilet paper & paper towel rolls Clean eggshells, egg cartons, or bottle caps Scrap fabric, ribbon, or wool Plastic containers, lids, or newspapers There are no strict rules! Build a futuristic robot, a cozy dollhouse, a colorful sculpture, a cardboard arcade game, or an abstract canvas. If you can invent it using recycled materials, it counts! How to enter: Take a clear photo of your finished creation (no student photos please) and send it to amicallef2@parra.catholic.edu.au We can't wait to see your incredible masterpieces!
