** TEMPORARY CHANGE OF DISMISSAL - THURSDAY 27 AUGUST ORWELL STREET EXITS CLOSED IN AFTERNOON** Dear Parents and Carers. This afternoon, Mary Queen of the Family Parish has notified St Michaelโ€™s of a funeral that will take place in the St Michaelโ€™s Church tomorrow Thursday 27 August between 2pm-3:30pm. They are expecting a large number of attendees, utilising the church car park and the church driveway where the hearse will be parked (in front of our Orwell St gates). As a result, there are going to be major changes to dismissal Thursday afternoon. Orwell Street Car Pick Up and Orwell Street Parent Pick Up will be CLOSED tomorrow afternoon. Families who normally use Orwell Street Car Pick Up and Parent Pick Up may use a temporary car pick-up via Reservoir Road between 2:00pm and 2:40pm. Cars will be directed through the staff car park, with staff available to assist. Please refer to the map below. The temporary Reservoir Road car pick-up will operate only from 2:00pmโ€“2:40pm. At 2:40pm, the car pick up option will finish and the staff car park gates will close so regular Reservoir Road dismissal can begin. Students who go to Orwell St Car Pick Up and Parent Pick Up will be assembled at the Infants Quad at 2pm. Families unable to collect before 2:40pm must park and walk to Reservoir Road Parent Pick Up to collect their children. Students collected early under these arrangements will not be marked as a partial absence. To prevent congestion and delays, there will be a left turn only out of the school gate onto Reservoir Road. Students who are normally collected by an older sibling from Nagle College at Orwell Street Parent Pick Up may still be collected by their sibling. They will leave the school via an alternative exit through Nagle College. Students who go home via Orwell Street Walkers will be walked by a staff member via an alternative exit through Nagle College to Orwell Street. Students who regularly go home via Reservoir Road Waiters and Walkers will be dismissed as usual at 3pm. Any car pick up students not picked up between 2pm and 2:40pm will also be waiting at Reservoir Road Waiters. Just to clarify a few things regarding the dismissal changes for tomorrow: - There is no change to Bus dismissal. The bus bay will be used as normal. - There is no change to Ambrose After School Care collection. This is still via the car park gate on Orwell Street. Only parents with children at Ambrose will be buzzed through. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe and respectful environment for our students, families and members of the wider community. If you have any questions regarding the revised dismissal arrangements, please contact the school office. Thank you for your understanding and support. St Michaelโ€™s Staff
